Remember, it is important to use boxes that are durable and have thick (double) walls as the boxes will get stacked during transit and may have to provide support to other boxes as well.
Choose the size of the package according to the content. Under-filled packages can collapse easily, and over-filled packages may tear or burst at the seams.
Only high quality materials should be used for your shipments. While selecting your wrapping supplies you must consider strength, cushioning, and durability.
Corrugated cardboard boxes with good quality outer liners are a good packaging choice. Use heavy-duty double-layered board for fragile items.
Make use of cushioning materials, especially to prevent your packed contents from moving or breaking.
Use strapping or strong tape to seal and secure your box.
Take care while packing fragile goods. Always pack them in the centre of a package ensuring that they do not touch the sides. Provide good cushioning on all sides to keep your items safe.
Repack your items properly. Most items sold with standard packaging are not suitable for shipping on ‘as-is' basis.
If you are sending a valuable item please hide the contents - for example electrical equipment that states what it is on the box should be wrapped in bubble wrap and then brown paper.
Ensure that the edges and points of all sharp items such as knives or scissors are fully protected. Cover them with heavy cardboard. Secure the protective material so that it accidentally does not come out during transit.
Only re-use boxes that are in good condition and ensure that all labels and stickers are removed.
Cargo weight must be evenly distributed within the container.
