We wish to congratulate both Lucy Lovegrove and Alison McCormick on their new roles within Geest line. Lucy has moved from our Documentation and Import Department to our Customer Services Team serving our export freight customers helping us to maintain our expected service levels to our clients.

Alison has joined our Documentation and Imports service team moving from our front line reception duties. Alison will be focusing on imports and all aspects of the export documentation processes bringing her usual vocal cheeriness to the team!

We welcome aboard Stephanie Janaway to the Geest Line family, Steph joins us as our company receptionist greeting all our visitors and callers with our typical friendly greetings as well as helping with our general administration.

We wish all three great success in their new positions (L to R we have – Alison McCormick, Lucy Lovegrove, Stephanie Janaway & Kevin Cool GM Commercial welcoming them aboard).

During the port call of m/v Klipper Stream at Manzanillo, Dominican Republic Geest Line customer Pedro Soria took the opportunity not only to ensure safe stowage and shipment of his cargo to Europe he also participated in his favourite sport of ‘kitesurfing’. As you can see the pictures and stunts are spectacular, with many UK staff being envious and now wanting to take up the sport but not in the UK chilly waters.

Pedro says ‘I started kitesurfing 4 years ago when I arrived in the DR, it is an amazing water sport full of physical challenges and a great way to disconnect from work. I am extremely lucky because in the DR I can practice all year around in warm tropical blue waters and steady trade winds. I visited the port to check everything was fine with our shipments and to stay in touch with our local staff. Manzanillo is a windy port because it is located on the north coast with trade winds and thermic effect over the area.

We started our business relationship with Geest back in 2009, the Geest Line service we receive has to be the most reliable shipping line service we have ever come across. Efficiency, professionalism, friendly faces, team work, these words are probably describing at best the Geest Line Team.

Kevin Cool, Geest Line Commercial Manager comments ‘Geest Line is similar to Kitesurfing in that we are agile, flexible and a fast moving company – many thanks to Pedro and Top Fruit for their continued support we wish them good luck both on and off the water!..’

Jim Mardle, Geest Line’s Terminal Operations Coordinator at Portsmouth, is a committee member of local charity ‘Football For Cancer’.

Each year FFC hold a spring football tournament to raise funds for local cancer charities and families in the area who are in need of extra support. There are eight teams each year and each team name represents somebody who has sadly passed away from a Cancer related illness.

Geest Line have for 2015 sponsored team Alistair “Kiwi” Walker – Alistair was a close friend of Jim’s who sadly lost his brave fight against Leukaemia in January this year. His story and those of all the other teams can be found on the ‘Football For Cancer’ web site at WWW.FFCEVENTS.COM

Geest Line are proud to support local charities and hope you will join with us in wishing team “Kiwi” every success in this year’s tournament.

During transit, your cargo is exposed to various risks, despite the safety measures put in place by carriers. Damages or losses may occur during handling, storage or transport operations which could have a serious impact on your business and finances.

To manage this risk and enhance your shipping experience – Geest Line has developed insurance solutions for you that address these risks.

Following Geest Line membership to the British International Freight Association (BIFA) and acceptance into the voluntary jurisdiction of the Financial Ombudsman Service we are pleased to be able to offer these type of important value added services to existing and new shippers.

In co-operation with our partners, London brokers Bannerman Rendell and global underwriters AVIVA, we have tailored packages to suit your circumstances, requirements and budget.

Geest Line are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a proportion of a major trade lane from a famous beer producer. The award comes after lengthy tendering, and it is a first for Geest Line to be moving cargoes on behalf of this highly respected Global company.

Geest are also pleased to announce a further three year contract with a major Automotive manufacturer and will continue their rewarding working relationship. The lines success is partly due to a competitive offering, and serving the contracted destinations, with a direct only service without transhipment.

We look forward to further successes through 2015.
